Ah, the Gala! The main social event of Costume College, the Gala is where you bring out your biggest and best costume of the weekend. In theory, at least. :)
Rather than stress to make a new Gala gown, I decided to rewear my rose franciase I made at the beginning of the year, adding oodles of spangles and some sparkly accessories to make it feel new again.
I added four different kinds of pink metallic spangles to the trimming, in three different sizes - 5mm, 3mm, and a frustratingly small 2.5mm. I grouped them in threes down the ruched fabric trim and the effect was wonderful! The tone on tone spangles added just the right shimmer and sparkled beautifully in the low light. They don't really show up in pictures, but in person it was perfect.

I wore a new custom rhinestone necklace that looked like pink paste (it's so wonderful, it gets its own post) and a vintage brooch and borrowed feathers in my hair.
